Summits above the fog, with the best hours and the trip

What is the fog top?
The fog top is the height where the low fog ends and the sun comes out. In Swiss weather reports it is called the Hochnebelobergrenze. Below it the day stays grey and cold; a few hundred metres above it you stand in the sun and look down on a sea of fog.
How we estimate it
We don't measure the fog. For each summit we compare the forecast for the summit with a point in the valley below it: grey valley and sunny summit means the summit is above the fog. The fog top is placed between the lowest summit in the sun and the highest summit below it that is still in cloud, rounded to 100 m. Treat it as a rough guide; the summits' own verdicts are what count. How it works

How high do I need to go to get above the fog?
