What to expect
Two funicular sections climb from Cassarate, a short bus ride from Lugano station, to the top of Monte Brè at 925 m. Below you the whole Bay of Lugano opens out, with Monte San Salvatore opposite and the Alps on the horizon on clear days. A short path leads down to Brè village, with its stone lanes and open-air art. It runs all year.
