What to expect
Solothurn's Jura balcony is ten minutes up by gondola from Oberdorf. On fog days you stand above a white sea covering the Plateau, with the Alps lined up from the Säntis to Mont Blanc, and the planet trail makes an easy walk with kids. At 1,284 m, though, it sits in the fog itself on some days.
